According to a source from the Jingzhou Transportation Work Conference, Jingzhou plans to invest a total of 9.5 billion yuan in highway and waterway construction this year, including an investment of 4.5 billion yuan in highways, 1.73 billion yuan in trunk highways, 430 million yuan in the elimination of road & bridge hazards, 990 million yuan in rural roads, 940 million yuan in ports and waterways, and 910 million yuan in logistics stations and yards. The total investment covers 48 transportation projects, including 21 new projects, 12 continued ones and 15 completed ones.
With respect to highways, Jingzhou will start the construction of "three highways and two bridges" (the Jiangling-Songzi and Xiantao-Honghu sections of Wuhan-Songzi Highway, Dangyang-Zhijiang-Songzi Highway, Libu Yangtze River Bridge, Guanyinsi Yangtze River Bridge); and will lose no time in advancing the early works of "five highways and one bridge" (the Jingzhou beltway section of Erenhot-Guangzhou Highway, the south extension of Shashi-Gong'an Highway connected to Anxiang, Hunan and its north extension (the northeast section of Jingzhou Beltway), Jianli-Huarong Highway (including Jianli-Huarong Highway-Railway Bridge) and the south extension of Dangyang-Zhijiang-Songzi Highway.
With respect to trunk highways and rural roads, Jingzhou will complete 65.91 kilometers of first & second-class highways, as well as 1,000 kilometers of rural roads.
With respect to ports and waterways, Jingzhou will apply to state ministries and commissions for regulating the 4.5-meter deepwater channel in the Jingzhou section of the Yangtze River, complete projects including Phase I of Jingzhou Coal Rail-Water Transport, Storage and Distribution Base, Phase II of Cheyanghe Integrated Terminal in Songzi Port Area, Sinopec Jingzhou Oil Depot Terminal in the Guanyinshi operation zone of Jiangling Port Area, accelerate projects including Jiangling Petrochemical Terminal, Central China (Jingzhou) Logistics Park and Songzi Agricultural Product Logistics Park; and newly commence projects including Phase I of the Jing River, the multi-purpose terminal in the Douhudi operation zone of Gong'an Port Area and Phase I of Bailuo Logistics Port in Jianli Port Area.
With a focus on reducing logistics cost, Jingzhou will further enhance the function of its core ports, conduct targeted investment promotion among China's top 50 logistics enterprises, as well as 5A logistics and supply chain management enterprises, and implement ten key modern logistics projects with a total investment of 27.53 billion yuan, including Manufacturing Supply Chain Logistics Base, Agricultural Product Logistics Trading Center and Bulk Commodity Logistics Base, so as to promote the integrated development of industrial parks, ports and logistics parks.
Jingzhou will develop customized logistics for upstream and downstream industries, and focus on building four fine multi-modal transport routes to further improve its multi-modal transport network.
